Times of Distress and Sorrows

"The Letter From God"
"Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is
consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly. For I am ready to halt, and my
sorrow is continually before me. That I have great heaviness and continual
sorrow in my heart. And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat
prosperity. My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself;
I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. But I trusted in thee, O Lord:
I said, Thou art my God. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my
deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn
of my salvation, and my high tower. In my distress I called upon the Lord,
and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did
enter into his ears. Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes,
lest I sleep the sleep of death; For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and
the Lord will lighten my darkness. And now for a little space grace
hath been shewed from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to
escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our
eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage. That
is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you
and me. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted."
